Flipping Scripts with Revolutionary Alphabets

Sariling Gawa (Self Work) Youth Council celebrating 35 years of Filipino youth empowerment held its annual camp March 20-22. Saturday, March 21st was away full of cultural workshops.

Building on the success of Revolutionary Alphabets at February’s Pamantasan (Higher Education) Conference we were invited to hold another workshop for Sariling Gawa.

Revolutionary Alphabets was born from our concern for preserving endangered indigenous Philippine languages in an alternative and artistic way. We are inspired by graffiti writing and the Supreme Alphabets of the Five Percent.
Revolutionary Alphabets is a collaborative effort comprised of Laetitia Mahoney, proudly representing 808 Urban and Joseph Gorre proudly representing Kabataang maka-Bayan O’ahu and the Curators of Hip Hop movement.
